Jose ‘Joe’ Luis Garcia, aged 64, passed away on July 8th, 2026 peacefully in his sleep. He was born on April 15th, 1962 to Jose and Petra Garcia. Joe is preceded in death by his father Jose ‘Cheste’ Garcia and mother Petra Garcia. He is survived by brothers Rodolfo, Raymond, Manuel, Reymundo (Jessica Barrera), and sisters Josie (James Strahan), and Maria (John Garrett), sister Brenda Warren, along with his Goddaughter (Gabriella M Rodriguez), numerous nephews (Rudy Garcia Jr. and Joey Garcia) and nieces (Josie Rios, Cameo Kirbbs, Laudis Rovi, and Kaitlin Strahan).

Joe was the Valedictorian of his class at Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. After graduating as Valedictorian in 1980, he attended Yale University. Joe served in the United States Navy in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba working in Sonar Radio Communications.

Joe L. Garcia was a God-fearing Man and Warrior Child of God. Joe was the type of person to always stand up for Righteousness. He refused to stand down to injustice and testifying to the truth. When Joe L. Garcia was in the First Grade he heard the Voice of Father God in school. He gave him the answer to a question the teacher asked that no one knew. After that day Joe always walked with Father God. Which explains his many successes in life including Academia.

Joe was always the life of the party. Every day he was up working either at his job or at home in the garden. He would Jam out to KNON daily especially on Tejano Thursdays. His best friend is John Neil Garrett. The husband of his sister Maria A. Garrett. Joe was truly a blessing in everyone’s life. Teaching and imparting wisdom on all. He is a God-fearing Man and taught the word along with wisdom impacting everyday life. His greatest influence was on his Goddaughter Gabriella and Niece Cameo. He lived with them both and his sister Maria from 2001 – 2026. Joe L. Garcia was Second father in their lives.

Throughout our mourning for Joe L. Garcia we will always remember he is a light that may have left this World but will always shine bright! Joe will be forever missed. We all may have peace in our hearts knowing that his soul was granted eternal rest in the Kingdom of God. If Joe L. Garcia could leave ever-lasting wisdom with us all. It would be for us all to truly seek Father God. Jesus Christ tells us in the Gospel of John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No comes to the Father except through me.” With these words engraved in our hearts. Joe would ask us all to seek the Father. For there is no greater love to receive like our Father God’s Agape Love.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 6th, 2026 at Aria Funeral Home (1820 N Beltline Rd Irving, TX 75061) There will be no viewing, but visitation will be held from 3 PM to 4 PM. Services will begin at 4 PM, led by Chaplain Francis Bannister-Valdez Joe was baptized into the Catholic Church as an infant. Although he had no church home, Chaplain Valdez provided comfort in his final days, therefore the family has requested that she conduct his final service.

Should anyone desire to eulogize, please notify the family before the service begins, so you will be given the Opportunity after the Chaplain is finished.
