Obituary

In Loving Memory of Roman Diaz Cazares

Roman Diaz Cazares was born on August 10, 1969, and passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 57. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend whose life was filled with faith, kindness, and unconditional love. He had a generous heart and was always willing to help anyone who needed him. His family and friends knew they could count on him for a helping hand, a comforting presence, and the loving spirit that made him so special.

Family was at the heart of Roman’s life. He understood that some of the most meaningful memories were made in the simplest moments—riding bicycles with his children, going out for ice cream, and spending Sunday mornings together enjoying biscuits and gravy. Whether he was buying his children a pink car or simply making time to be with them, Roman showed his love in ways they would remember forever.

He also filled his family’s life with adventures. From hiking and camping in Oregon to road trips to Mexico, he treasured the opportunity to explore and make memories with the people he loved. Trips to Turner Falls, SeaWorld, Disneyland, and the State Fair became cherished parts of their family story. What made those experiences unforgettable was sharing them with Dad.

Roman was there for the moments that mattered. His family will always treasure the memory of him walking his daughter Suzzeth down the aisle and sharing special father-daughter dances with Lucero and Soledad at their quinceañeras. These moments reflected the love and devotion he carried for his children throughout his life.

Being a grandfather brought Roman so much joy. He never missed Romeo’s concerts, his grandchildren’s school events, or the special occasions that meant so much to them. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. For example, he played with Ani every day, making her smile and filling their days with laughter until his illness no longer allowed him to. His presence was a gift, and the love he shared with them will remain an irreplaceable part of their lives.

Roman also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys with his family. Tailgating together and sharing the excitement of their memorable comeback against the Eagles were among the many happy moments his loved ones will continue to remember. Whether at a game, on a family trip, or gathered at home, being together was what mattered most to him.

Faith and music held a meaningful place in Roman’s life. He attended Mary Immaculate Church and enjoyed studying the Bible. He loved playing the guitar and listening to music that spoke to his heart, from the songs of Los Bukis, Marco Antonio Solís, Los Temerarios, and Industria del Amor to the religious songs he cherished. Favorites such as “Entre Tus Manos,” “El Alfarero,” and “Pan y Vino” will remain closely connected to his memory. His favorite color was blue, a simple detail his family will always remember with affection.

Roman leaves behind his beloved wife, Alba Luz Tovar Flores; his children, Lucero, Soledad, and Suzzeth Diaz; his grandchildren, Romeo, Sarai, Carmen Lopez, and Analeigh Perez; and his mother, Santos Diaz. His beloved companions, Bell, Percy, Rue, Sophie, Molly, and Benjamin, also held a special place in his heart.

Above all, Roman will be remembered for the love he gave so freely. He put the people he loved first and showed them, through both meaningful milestones and everyday kindness, that they could always count on him. His generosity, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

As his family honors his life, they carry with them the memories of a father who showed up, a grandfather who made them smile, a husband who loved deeply, and a man whose heart was always open to others. His love will live on in the family he cherished and in the countless moments they will hold close forever.

Forever loved, deeply missed, and always in our hearts.
